    BTCC Forum Predictions 2019; Thruxton

    Hello people!

    Welcome to the second round of the 2019 BTCC.net forum predictions championship. The format is staying the same as the 2018 campaign,

    With a full grid of 30 cars, 18 previous race winners and 5 champions on the grid, it'll be a good season ahead.

    The basic format is the same as 2018, predicting the pole driver and results of the 3 races, however for 2019 it won't be the top 3 to predict but the top 5, but there is no Jack Sears Trophy part this season.

    Predictions need to be submitted by 9am of the Saturday, late entries entered after 9am but before the start of qualifying will be accepted subject to the 10% late entry ballast. Any entries entered after the start of qualifying will not be accepted.

    So the format;

    Pole

    Race 1;
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    FL

    Race 2;
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    FL

    Race 3;
    Reverse grid draw;
    Reverse Grid Pole;
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    FL

    The points scoring for 2019 is;

    Race 1 Pole; 12 Points
    Races 1, 2 & 3;

    P1 - 30 Points
    P2 - 26 Points
    P3 - 22 Points
    P4 - 20 Points
    P5 - 18 Points
    FL - 15 Points

    Reverse Grid number; 10 Points
    Reverse Grid Driver; 15 Points

    If you get both position and driver correct, it'll be 30 points.

    For race 1 only, if you predict Pole, Winner and FL correctly, you'll score 70 Points, compared to the 57 it would be. So if you predicted Turkington to get Pole, win R1 and FL, you'll score 70 points but it would be 42 Points if he got pole and the win but another driver got FL.

    Unlike in 2018, half points won't be awarded if a driver does finish inside the top 5, but not the position you predicted.

    Rounds 5 and 10 will be double points rounds as per usual.

    Good luck one and all.

    Results will be posted within 2 weeks of the event.

    Cheers!

    Klaus, your predictions are accepted but you will be subjected to the 10% late entrant ballast, as per the regulations. Cut off is 9am, but accepted up until qualifying with the 10% deduction. Only time the predictions aren't accepted is after qualifying.

    Hello everyone!

    Thruxton, Hampshire, host of rounds 7, 8 and 9 (plus 3 later in the year) of the 2019 Kwik Fit BTCC and the races didn't disappoint, with Andrew Jordan bouncing back from his Donington disappointment to claim a double win whilst the third win went to local man Josh Cook, while leaving Hampshire, it is a tie at the top with reigning Champion Colin Turkington tied for the lead with AmD's Rory Butcher... even after 9 races, could a new name be put on the Champions trophy come October?

    How did the forumers get on at Thruxton?

    1. Clio172ron - 74 Points
    2. Cari Lou - 42 Points
    3. Vanilla_Astra - 30 Points
    4. Motormouth_33 - 15 Points
    5. Klaus - 0 Points

    So Clio172ron top scores at Thruxton, with a small gap to Cari Lou in 2nd, whilst Klaus, even with the 10% penalty, scored 0...

    How have the results affected the Championship standings?

    1. Clio172ron - 104 Points
    2. Vanilla_Astra - 103 Points
    3. Motormouth_33 - 67 Points
    4. Cari Lou - 57 Points
    5. SpanneredMonkey - 53 Points
    6. Klaus - 26 Points

    So it is Clio172ron who leads the way, with 2017 Champion Vanilla_Astra just a point behind, with the top 2 opening up a sizeable advantage over the chasing pack heading to Croft.

    The Croft thread will open very soon.

    Cheers all!

    Thanks for that.
    At least, the deduction didn't hurt me that much

    ...just not up too speed - I could really need a little boost increase
