Hello people!
Welcome to the 2018 BTCC.net forum predictions championship. I know I said I'd stand down but hey, things have changed and I have a bit of time to run it so here we go.
I've made some changes for 2018, which I'll explain as I go through it all.
With a full grid of 32 cars, 19 previous race winners and 5 champions on the grid, it'll be a good season ahead.
The basic format is the same as 2017, predicting the pole driver and results of the 3 races, however for 2018 it won't be the top 3 to predict but the top 5, but there is no Jack Sears Trophy part this season.
So the format;
Pole
Race 1;
1
2
3
4
5
FL
Race 2;
1
2
3
4
5
FL
Race 3;
Reverse grid draw;
Reverse Grid Pole;
1
2
3
4
5
FL
The points scoring for 2018 is;
Race 1 Pole; 12 Points
Races 1, 2 & 3;
P1 - 30 Points
P2 - 26 Points
P3 - 22 Points
P4 - 20 Points
P5 - 18 Points
FL - 15 Points
Reverse Grid number; 10 Points
Reverse Grid Driver; 15 Points
If you get both position and driver correct, it'll be 30 points.
For race 1 only, if you predict Pole, Winner and FL correctly, you'll score 70 Points, compared to the 57 it would be. So if you predicted Turkington to get Pole, win R1 and FL, you'll score 70 points but it would be 42 Points if he got pole and the win but another driver got FL.
Half points will be awarded if you guess a driver correctly but in the wrong position - aka you predict Rob Austin to finish P2 but he finishes P3, you'll score 11 Points for P3. The half points will be for the position the driver finishes in.
The total possible score for a weekend will be 160 Points.
The Brands GP events will be double point events.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask and I'll answer.
Entries must be in by 9am of the Saturday of the race weekend - any entries after that but before qualifying will be accepted at my discresion but subject to a 10% points deduction as a late entry ballast. Anything entered after the start of qualifying won't be accepted.
Good luck all!
