I may be adding 2 and 2... and getting 5. But seeing the Kingston>Hard news, makes much more sense to the rumour of Plato>Hard. Hill or Burns with Plato in a known car and good engineer...... may cause some surprises.
Then again... the answer could be 4

Plato had a Birthday and someone gave him some Viagra as a joke. He tweeted about it. I don't think that means a move to Team HARD. I wouldn't be surprised if he called it a day, I also wouldn't be surprised if he came back and won the series in 2018, he hasn't forgotten how to drive, he's just had a crappy year.

Theres a few things that lead me to thing that there is more to this...
Plato will only work with decent engineers, he has experience with the Passat, knowing also that it wasnt developed to its full potential.
There is also this tweet: I read it as he got screwed in his current deal, as the timing mentioned may be similar to him signing for BMR. Its just subtle things that I'm reading into...

Unless we wee a team drop out... I am still bemused where that TBL came from.
    Team Parker or Maximum Motorsport...
Motorbase loaded 1 from Welch for 2017
Power Maxed loaned 2 for 2017.. they will be looking for 2xTBLs too...
Hence my conclusion of a reduced BMR effort

    The magic TBL....

    - Maximum has made positive noises about 2018
    - though Parker are silent.
    - Chris Smiley has been tweeting about looking forward to 2018 and hashtagging BTC Norlin
    - Motorbase have had a couple of fallow years, and given their acquisition of 2x TCR cars they may look to dilute their BTCC Efforts
    - PMR borrowed 2x last year but I can't see them entering a new car if they weren't assured of TBL's in 2018, and they own the ones used by BTC Norlin

So either a reduced Motorbase effort or a Team Parker Absence could provide a TBL for Team hard.

But I would like to see a really focused 2 car effort from BMR, perhaps backed up by an early ditching of the MG leading to a 888 Subaru Team?

So there is 2 of the 4 piece HARD puzzle.
If I were Simpson, I would be keeping the tried and tested Civic package. I know it is not the fastest.. but clearly no slouch, but I guess it depends if it suits him.
Surely HARD have to try and keep Hill or Burns. They did really well this year.

Someone is loosing out here... something is not adding up

I think a lot of this hinges on Team Dynamics

    - If they are to develop and run a newest Civic then they'll at least need 1 each for Shedden and Neal...
    - Eurotech have been faster than them with a TOCA Powered version of the same car, can TDM afford to let that continue? or will they leave then with the "Older Civic"?...
    - Did Matt Simpson do enough in 2017 to keep their support in 2018?.... I'm not convinced he did.

Matt Simpson was only paying for team support on weekends, I am guessing either TD said no to the job or eurotech were a lot cheaper. Simpson owns the car (and presumably the tbl) along with having his own infrastructure (truck, awning, hospitality etc)

It will also be a case of if TD are going to be running the new Civic but Simpson the old, why would they have a new and old version running out of the same stable? Doesn't make a lot of sense

    Eurotech 3 Old Civics....

One thing is for sure, assuming TD are building a "New Civic" they'd better do a ****** good job of it..... It would be mighty embarrassing if it was left eating the Eurotech, TOCA Powered, Old Civic's dust!
