    The diesel Leons

Anyone knew where did the two Leon TDIs driven by Plato and Darren Turner went?Just then I found Plato's car was displayed on Sam Tordoff's dad's car showroom!Does Tom Boardman still own Turner's car without that TDI engine? And does anyone know that Plato's displayed car was still having a TDI engine underneath the hood?Because I've heard that SEAT Sport was pretty protective about their diesel engines...

The last question is:Was the diesel Leons really quiet compared to NA cars?Anybody exprienced their noise on the scene?

I know exactly where Plato's chassis is.. its stored about 1.8 miles from my house and comes out quite regular for SEAT events.. I had a photo shoot with it and my old road car earlier in the year.

Turners chassis was here but then it disappeared and haven't seen it since, not sure if Tom B did buy that one or not.

Tom B currently has 2 chassis for sale from WTCC.

The TDI engines were removed ASAP and to this day are still secretive (I talk to SEAT Sport alot and still wont discuss them), The TDI engines were quiet compared to NA cars but weren't as quiet as made out on the TV. I owned a FR TDI at the time and ran a similar stage of tune on my engine (Around 230bhp) and mine was quite noisy.

Thanks for these extremely detailed information!Looks like SEAT's diesel engine is a really secretive weapon. And do you know the approximate output of those engines in BTCC?Was it close to those NA cars?

AFAIK Turner's chassis was bought by Boardman before the Pau races in 2009. I somehow remember MH mentioning it during the race.
    You're welcome.

I've lost count with what chassis was what.. Maybe one of the ones TB has for sale now was Turners then!

The engines were 260-280PS IIRC.. the reason I was speaking to SEAT Sport at the time was I had a 2008 FR TDI with Stage2 tuning (about 230bhp) and wanted to know what else I could do to the engine.
